GamePlan Gear Spot-n-Stalk Pack

Over the years I have used numerous backpacks and fannypacks trying to find the perfect pack for my own individual hunting needs. The ones I use usually either have too much room,  not enough room, difficult to access quickly and quietly,  uncomfortable to wear, or  just always seem to have something about them I dislike.

I also am not one who likes having a quiver attached to my bow. I always remove my quiver while in my treestand or blind, but if I am still hunting for deer or stalking hogs I have to leave it on the bow,  or carry it in my free hand which is a real pain for me!  There are four reasons I don’t like having a quiver on my bow, and the number one reason is,  I shoot a lot better without it.  But not only do I shoot more accurate without it, my bow is also lighter, quieter, and maneuvers around a lot easier when I don’t have a quiver full of arrows hanging from the side of it.

100_0175Recently I found a pack called the Spot-n-Stalk made by GamePlan Gear  that looks to be the perfect pack for my needs. I can attach my quiver to the side of the pack and have quick and easy access to my arrows without having it on my bow. The pack is not overly large and bulky,  but is large enough that I don’t almost bust the seams trying to get it closed when I pack my hunting gear inside.

100_0174The pack has a  large main compartment for stuff like binoculars, rope, knife,Thermacell, lunch, etc. It also has two smaller external zippered compartments on the back that are perfect for calls, flashlight, gloves, facemasks or whatever else I may carry. It also has a side pocket  for carrying a water bottle, and the bottom of the pack  has straps  for carrying a jacket, or rain gear rolled up and out of the way.

Instead of the two straps like backpacks have,  this pack has one wide shoulder strap that extends over the shoulder and across your chest making it more comfortable to wear, and easier to take off and put on than a regular backpack. There’s also a smaller pocket on the bow quiver side for carrying a rangefinder,  and a handle sewn onto the side of the pack to spin it around for easy access to your gear.

I really like this pack so far and I am looking forward to using it this coming fall. My quiver removes very easily so I can just take it off when I gun hunt and re-attach it when I bowhunt.  It is comfortable to wear and keeps my stuff well organized and easy to access. It seems to be made up of  good strong and durable material, so if  it holds up and don’t start coming apart on me then I think I have finally found the perfect hunting pack for me.
