About Me

Hello, welcome to my blog! My name is David and this is my first time to ever create anything like this, but my girlfriend Michele suggested that as passionate as I am about hunting and fishing I should create a blog and well, here I am!

I am 38 yrs old and just a regular blue collar worker who puts in his regular 40 hr work week like most people. When I’m not at work, other than spending time with my girlfriend and her kids and my own, there is nothing I would rather do than be in the woods (known to me as our deer camp) that we have owned for 25 years. Not a large ranch crawling with huge trophy bucks by any means, just a 52 acre hardwood tract that is my second home and that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

I hunt deer, hogs, turkey and squirrel there and also have a small cabin and a pond stocked with bluegill, catfish and a few bass so there is always something to do there. Even though I would love to go on all the dream hunts for huge trophies like on TV but cant afford to, I consider myself lucky to have the luxury of having  a job where I have 3 days off a week and am able to spend a great deal of time in the woods. Even though my girlfriend thinks I have to much time to spend there I still don’t think its enough.  lol

We plant food plots for our deer and wildlife but our place is the real deal, so you won’t sit there in a stand and see 10 bucks a day or 1 for that matter, but if you do your homework and put your time in then you will see deer and lots of other game too! I’m also fortunate to live in Texas where our deer season runs for a full 3 months.

I’m by no means claiming to be a professional at anything, but I have been hunting for 30 years now and can only give honest opinions on stuff I have tried and that has worked for me. Wish I had pics of the big bruiser trophy bucks to post on here, but unfortunately not many live around the place I hunt or in the county I hunt in, for that matter, but occasionally you come across one and they all taste great to me anyway! lol

Don’t have a lot of pics to post at this time but from here on out gonna start putting them on here and blogging about my hunts and things I do and products I’ve used and tried. So hope you will come and visit here from time to time and if you have any questions about anything I blog about feel free to ask. I will do my best to answer it, but if I don’t know I will tell ya and not fill ya with a bunch of BS!
